"But something happened?" Bunny asks softly, worried, placing his guitar back in his lap.

"My brother's in the army, got deployed to Iraq," he mutters. "We got a call this morning saying he'd been badly injured, and, at this point, they don't know if he'll survive," he sighs.

A deep sadness etches itself into Bunny's eyes and he stays where he is for a moment before gently placing his guitar into its case and closing it, standing and bringing it with him as he walks over to sit down right beside Skye, pulling him into a gentle, brief hug. It's only for a few moments, just long enough to tell Skye that even though they've just met and are still practically strangers, someone cares. He cares.
"I really hope he makes it," Bunny murmurs. "I hope he heals and comes home very soon."

Flashing Bunny a grateful smile, he nods. "Yeah. Me too. It's just one of those things, you know? You think that something's never gonna happen, and then the world goes and tosses you head over heels, destroying all your pretty illusions."

"It can be pretty damn scary when your illusions start falling away and you start to see the world for what it really is," Bunny murmurs. "And even when it's not ...a lot of the time it's just ...sad." He's not so much talking about losing his innocence--it's more about no longer being able to hide himself from the things in the world he doesn't like.
As he speaks, words and rhymes start stringing themselves together in his head, and when he finishes his sentence, he pulls a small notepad and a pen out of his pocket and starts scribbling things down. After about a minute, he flips the pad closed and caps the pen, putting them back in his pocket.
"Sorry about that," he half-smiles. "An idea for a song. I didn't want to let it get away."

Skye smiles. "I don't mind. I know what it's like when you get an idea you don't want to lose."

"Mm," is Bunny's only reply as he picks his guitar back up, playing random chords and working various melodies over in his head. After a few moments of silence, he says, "Tell me something about yourself."

Skye thinks for a moment before flashing a smirk. "I was in Psychotherapy for most of my childhood because I refused to wear boy's clothes. If my mom tried to dress me in anything but girl clothes I threw the worst tantrums ever and trashed the clothes. I got several spankings for my troubles, but it never stopped me. They finally just gave up and let me wear whatever the hell I wanted."

Bunny grins at that.
"That's awesome," he laughs. "I have to say, that's definitely the most interesting reply I've ever gotten to that statement. Is there a particular reason you would only wear girl's clothes? Or was it just ...what you wanted simply because that's what you wanted?"

Skye shrugs a bit. "It was what I wanted. When I was younger, I think I just liked the colors better. As I got older, I just liked the clothes themselves. Nowadays, I still wear mostly girl's clothes, but I have couple pairs of guy's jeans and a few random baggy t-shirts. Those are for my blah days." He grins a bit.
"I guess I just like looking pretty. Most people can't tell on first glance. But they notice something off and then they realize I have an Adam's apple and am utterly flat-chested. On occasion I feel like getting fake breasts, cause some clothes don't fit quite right without breasts, but then wonder if that's going to just too much trouble. Haven't decided yet."
He turns to the other boy with a grin. "What about you? Tell me something about yourself."
