So Lali said something about it in the shoutbox, so I figured Ru would love to read it. As well as Riemman, if she ever comes back to life.
((Bold is everyone. A is first person, B second, C third, D fourth. AB means A and B at the same time, etc. Italics means to do the action))
Speak up
A) Find your voice
B) Make a noise (claps to beat)
Speak up
C) Be you
D) Find your own beat
Speak up
AB) Tap your own feet (small dance)
CD) Travel at your own speed
Speak up
AC) We all have our own drummer
BD) Follow him, not another’s
(yell) Speak up
A)We all have our own reason, rhyme, beat in time,
to be able to do as we please, to fall on our knees,
In prayer for sins never committed, discrimination to protest, not omitted,
Always looking for something new, some one new to sue
Corporations to overthrow, seeds of new trees to sow
AB) and even though
B)we don’t see why it has to be this way
ACD) Speak up
B) There are people that need to change, only can time pay
Enemies to talk to, friends to betray
Kids to take care of, even if they aren’t our blood
Seeping through to the pregnant teenager as she cheats
On, even though he is the father of another
C) (interrupt) friend, yet, no one cares, no one shares,
No one gives a damn about Iran, about a clan
Of the savage wilderbeasts we call the American government,
What we have to do is
Speak up
ABC) Find your voice
D) Get your message out, loud and clear, for everyone to hear.
Not just for the weak or the headstrong everyone.
Love and acceptance, even hate and fear.
Let it out, let it be, let me --
Speak up!
BCD) Make a noise
A) Don’t pay attention to what others think -
Don’t pay attention to the people cutting you down
Taking away your chance for pleasure
This way, now, they can measure
Themselves against the world’s best
And I’m here to confess -
Speak up!
CD) A) Murders, B) rape, C) goodbyes, D) duct tape
A) Dances, B) terrorists, C) purple hearts, D) first kisses
C) Living a silent life everyday
But who really pays?
C) For the murder of a child - does the killer,
Or the parents pay the price?
A helping hand on the street -
Are their intentions naughty or nice?
Goodbyes to a loved one, roses thrown on the grave site
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust” they had a good life
Hearts aren’t mended by duct tape any more
AB) (softly) were they ever?
D) Dances where preteens bump and grind
Consummating another statistic in bed, parents find
As weapons of mass destruction’s are being built, sketched out
In a math notebook,
As the teacher drones on about the secant of 9.6
Before life got too hard, too silent, too still
A) I can’t believe what this world is coming to, can you?
Barbie dolls walking down the street, big boobs, small feet
With “I’m sorry, I don’t eat meat” as their excuse on why
They are so small, pretty, fine
Every guy’s fantasy, every little girls dream
B) And in frustration, all I can do is scream in anger
At the way this world does nothing to change it,
Governments only talking, thinking
CD) That’s a joke
B) But why does it have to be?
C) To be or not to be, that is the question
D) To be the one that changes the world
C) Not just what if, you could
D) C) Just do something small
C) D) There are over eight billion people in this world
Speak up!
B) Don’t turn your back on injustices, that’s worse
Than shooting a gun or stealing a purse
Killing another or even a neighbor
Judgment is saved for the savior
Even if no one believes, no one sees
That it just can’t be me to
Speak up
A) We’re against terrorism, against the red scare, against war
Not for peace
Killing for peace is like screwing for chastity
This world is backwards, upside down, inside out
(Snap to attention, like in the army, saluting audience) Left, left, left right left
Soldiers going to a war that’s not needed overseas
Instead of fighting civil wars on our own knees
Speak up
C) Death, destruction, mayhem and pain
Our inner fears, multiplied by the world
Chews up our individuality inside out
Deteriorating what’s left of who we are
A) Preventing this death requires us all to
Speak up
A) And stand together
B) Not as a nation
C) Not as a culture
D) But as leaders for ourselves
And for all that have no voices[/s]
We ** must ** all ** (yell) SPEAK UP!
Changed a little from what Lali last saw. We found out that we were forty seconds over time, and we had to cut out some to shorten the time. That's what all the strikethroughs mean. Bold, like said, was all of us saying our lines together.
I got some pictures of us onstage, and Scalero (teacher) got a picture of us as a group. Those shall come soon, I promise.
Ru, what'cha think of it? And Lali, what do you think of the shortened version?
