Recently I found out from a Romanian native that Dracula was originally a legendary man who saved present day Romania from the Turks- twice!
The man who wrote the thriller Dracula just used the legends name for the bloodsucking vampire from Transalvania.
He was quite offended when we related Romania to the vampire Dracula and he corrected us.
I just thought it was interesting and I will post updates on my research about both- the legend and the vampire- here.

Here's another piece of info: Alucard, the hero in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PSX, is Dracula backwards. The paradox in the game is that Alucard killed his father even though they are the same.
