Halmark has taken over the holidays! All I've seen today were kiss-up boyfriends and girlfriends giving eachother roses and chocolate and ballons. Roses die, Chocolate is eatten, and ballons pop. You only have the memories and even they go away. It bugs me at how much people will spend to show their love today when they should show it every day!!!

I like Valentine's Day because in England it seems to have a lot more to do with friendship too. My friend gave me lots of people packs of sweets, and we went to the cinema together, and had a good old complain about the fact that we've never had a Valentine's Day Card from any prospective or current boyfriend - partly because we've never had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day. *shrug* But we enjoyed ourselves all the same, and I heartily embrace the day as one where you can randomnly hug your friends and tell them how great they are without getting funny looks. Although funny looks are fun too.

I've noticed this, though -- either people are for Valentines day, or they are against it. Fully for/against it, too. I like Valentines day, even though I don't have a sweetheart. Means free chocolate, and something to look forward to in the middle of winter.
EDIT: Funny looks are fun. And giving out kisses on the cheeks. I got a carnation from my sister. Pretty pretty.
