I got my results on Thursday - meant to swing by here and leave you a note, but I ended up putting it in my personal text instead and not posting, I think.
With that out of the way I was going to finish off my Plagiarism post and get things moving again.
I'll try and get that sorted in the next couple of days - I'm just a bit... off at the moment.
See, I found out on Friday that the Imaginative Writing tutor who taught me on both my summer schools, convinced me to go to the uni I'm going to, taught me staff and swordfighting and was going to be teaching me fantasy writing, more weapons training, meditation techniques and all sorts of fun stuff at uni died of cancer in January. He was 44 and I only just found out. I'd been emailing him up until then, and I assumed that he stopped replying because he was too busy dealing with all of his work at uni.
I'm something of a mix of upset, angry and shocked to find this out. He took an interest in my work and told me to stay in touch if I decided to go to Cambridge instead of LJMU. He and I chatted in email for a few months, and discussed novel-writing. When I found out he'd been writing a novel for the past 28 years and never got it finished, I told him he'd have to join NaNoWriMo next year. He was looking forward to it.
It's such a waste.
And there's nothing I can do, apart from make sure I finish everything I start from now on, because I can't stand to let it happen again.
Please, don't put things like that off. Make the most of your time, because this sort of thing happens every day and it's sudden and unexpected and I hate it.
I'll get back to RPs in a day or two. I swear, I'm not going to let anything go unfinished from now on.
