This is evidently what it means. What was your first day of 2006-2007 school like?
Mine wasn't that bad. I'm a SENIOR of highschool! It just kicked in this morning -- I can't believe it. My first class was College Algebra, which is fastpaced and a total pain, but I like Algebra, so I should be cool.
I went to Econ Honors, where he just stood up there and talked. At least, to make things fun, I have a good friend of mine in there that I can mess around with to pass the time.
From there I think I went to Auto Tech, in which I am the ONLY girl in that period. It was hilarious on how he looked at me. There I walk down the hallway, with a blue shirt on it with three teddy bears, one of which has underwear on it's head, caption reading "You do things your way, and I'll do them mine." My hair was twirled up with a hair stick, jeans, and flip flops, when all the guys in his class are gothic-y, or skater boys. Yeah, that's going to be a fun class to be in.
From there I went to Work Program, which is a class that allows us to get out early to work. All we did today was tell Mrs. S what we liked to do, and cut things out of magazines and paste them on construction paper. ^^ How fun.
My 6/7 class is Creative Writing, which is definatly going to be the class I'm going to look forward to every day (if I did the homework, that is). Mr. 'Lero is so funny, and easily distracted. He was talking about what we are going to be doing this year, and randomly said, "We should do a movie. And write a novel, either individually or as a class. Isn't there a story wanting to come out of your head? Yeah, there is. I don't know anything about making movies, but we should definatly do one. I know there is a media class, but we should do a play and make it into a movie." Just like that. And he told us that getting lost in the woods overnight when he was thirteen had a major impact on his life.
Lunch with Bree and my friend Amy. Twenty five minutes to talk to them and eat. Like that's possible.
Rock climbing for period nine is going to be fun. Three out of the five days I'm going to be doing something rock-climbing oriented -- Tuesday and Thursday we are doing something like running back and forth as a drill, or a procession of sit-ups with running inserted into it. Tuesday and Thursdays suck, but the cool thing about being in advanced rock climbing (I took it second semester last year) is that before Christmas break, we are going to do a three week course in the pool, kayaking, playing swimming games, etc. WITH BOYS. Eeep. ^^
I technically get out a peroid early for work program, but I don't have a bike (or a license to get a car) that works right now, so I'm hanging around in the computer lab for a while.
So, what's every one else's school load like?

Today was my third day of school. I feel like it's been months. -_- Is it summer yet? So far, sophmore year... sucks.
First I have Honors World Cultures, which would be fun if my teacher wasn't a total liberal. She says things that really tick me off. The potential interesting-ness has been slaughtered. >>
From there I go to Algebra II Honors. I stink at Algebra, but my teacher last year (who never did anything) told me to take it. I listened to him. On an ungraded pre-test, I got 48/100. That class is going to give me trouble.
Third period I have Honors English 10, which I was looking forward to, because last year we did a lot of writing. This year, though, it looks like all we're doing is preparing for the PSATs. Ick.
Fourth period is the biggest waste of my time in the history of the planet. I wanted to take Theme Writing- basically Creative Writing- but I got stuck in a study hall instead. Two kids and I stay in the bandroom for forty-five minutes kicking the wall. A lot of my friends got into Theme Writing, and I took a look at their work- it looks like so much fun! They got to take pen names and everything! *sob*
From there I go to lunch, where most of my friends are missing, the food still sucks, and the school system gave us this stupid pin number thing that makes the lines ten times longer to wait in.
After lunch I have Spanish. That is the high point of my day, because it is actually going to be a GOOD class. Senor Bohen is really nice, and I can't remember how to get the tilda on the 'n' on a computer, so bear with me. The only bad thing is I might not be able to get a partner for group work, except for this scary stalker guy.
Sixth period is double bio some days, and one period bio other days. I think the teacher is corrupted. Plus I'm in a class with people who don't know which end of a bunsen burner is up, so when he mixes up lab partners, I'm in trouble.
Phys Ed is... well, phys ed. It's never been good for me.
And finally, band. Listening to a sweaty bald guy yelling at you for forty-five minutes isn't fun. But what can ya do?
Yeah. So... is it summer YET?

*eyes bug out*
Good grief, that sounds like so much fun, Shira!
*hugs Ru*
And my sympathy must go to you...
I'm not back at school until Wednesday the 6th. Um. When's that? Next week?
Oh heavens it's next week. In fact, one week today. Uh oh. Homework beckons. ^_^'
And it looks to me like the school system here is very different! You have every lesson every day, it appears? Ours are spread across the week. Every week is the same, but the days are very different. Last year I got Tuesdays off, and I'm hoping my timetable won't change too much this time around! ^_^
I'll check back in and tell you what happens. Then I'll really be able to sympathise, because I'll be back in "Aw nuts I'm at school" mode...

-pats Ru's head- I'll help with Algebra if needed. Just create a 'Math' boards, and I'll help if it's possible to do it over the computer. ^^
See if your councelor (did I spell that right? It seems like my spelling has gone crappy since I started school again) could try and scramble you into a Theme writing class.
And Lali, you bite. But then, with the whole week thing, teachers give you more to do over the week instead of overnight, so HA!
I hate P.E. Today was the first day we actually did some work (we started on Tuesday) and then it's core, which is the running around the gym followed by different types of sit ups day. Grr. I look like a tomato.

Much sympathy to you, too, Shira! I can also try and help you with Algebra, Ru. I'm doing the equivalent over here - Maths and Further Maths. And guys, before you start sulking 'cause I'm not back at school yet, let's just remember - when do your summer holidays start? Because mine were the 21st of July this year. ^_^ ;D I'm sure you see my point. ^_^ And with the whole week thing, it means most of our lessons are two hours long. I have three hours of English on a Wednesday morning, too. ^_^' Eeh.

I got out June....ninth, I think. It does work out -- Chicago schools don't start until next week either, but we get out ealier than they do.
We have fifty minutes of the same class, everyday, except every other Wednesday, when it's fourty or so.

Even if he is an idiot, my councellor told me my options to take the place of the study hall. With the Honors classes, theme writing isn't a possibility. *snap*
That block scheduling thing, Lali? My school might switch to that, but I hope they don't! I would never be able to sit in one room for HOURS! And I'd get confused. Badly. And we wouldn't get days off, either. I like the eight-period scheduling (we have P.E. on the days we don't have double Bio).
I'm really loving Sr. Bohen, though! I'm surprised at how much Spanish I remember from last year. ^_^
Sorry, Lali, but I have to laugh at you. Homework over the summer? *points and laughs*

I'm almost already getting lost in college algebra. Seriously, we've done different things EVERY SINGLE DAY. And then she wants us to remember what we've done when she gives us the chapter tests.
And it's not like usual Algebra, with the easy definations. Now it's really confusing -- I don't have my math stuff here with me, but the f(x) just seems worse than before, added on to the fact that there seems to be a thousand more letters than last year....

*patpat* Poor Shira. Algebra is going okay for me... but right now we're just reviewing the end of last year. Nothing new yet. *sweatdrop*
First football game today. It's almost two hours away, and it's going to rain the whole time, so KK (our director) says we might not even do the half time show. I ask myself: THEN WHY ARE WE GOING?!?!?!

*patpat* Poor Ru. At least there's the chance that you aren't going to have to play, right? ^^
I have a theory I came up with last night: Those who write creative stories don't do as well in gym or P.E. What do you think?

I think I agree with you. I always hated PE, as did my two friends who wrote stories. In fact, with the girl of the pair, I used to sit on the benches most of the time and RP instead of doing the sports... And none of the teachers cared.

My teachers care. I know Seabald, and he makes you run. Or do what ever the class is doing. But he's cool. Let me get out of the 50 yard dash because of my foot.
And an update on my schedule: I dropped workprogram class, and inserted two study halls, so updates on various roleplays should be a lot more common.

Whoot! ^_^
First day back yesterday (not counting the trip out to Edinburgh) and everything is pretty much the same as last year.
Maths for two hours Monday morning Tutorial period for an hour before lunch English for two hours Monday afternoon
Tuesdays off. ^_^ WHOOT! Swimming in the morning, then. Probably driving in the afternoon until I pass my test, otherwise RPs. ^_^
English for three hours Wednesday morning Further Maths for two hours Wednesday afternoon (but I'm probably going to drop it)
Classics for two hours Thursday morning General Studies for the hour before lunch (ie, writing for an hour. General Studies is boring and useless.) Maths for two hours Thursday afternoon
Latin for the two hours before lunch on Friday morning (A lie in! A lie in!) Classics for the final hour on Friday afternoon.
Except that today General Studies was cancelled, so here I be in the library, reading, writing and emailing people. Whoot!

WOOT! Give it some more days and you'd want to drop all of your classes. It's kind of nice having creative writing, as I can sit in the front of the class as everyone else is discussing the previous nights homework and write in my book of stories (otherwise BOS).
And you bite. Me and Ru are stuck in school every day for ..... seven? eight? hours. I'm up and out the door at seven and finally back at three in the afternoon. What about everyone else?

I wake up at 5:45. My bus comes at 6:45 and school starts at seven thirty. I don't get home until three-ish.
Someone kill me, please.
I was right about my World Cultures teacher. She's totally biased. We were talking about religion, and I mentioned how unfair it was that Christians are being attacked- I mean, like with "under God" in the pledge of allegience and such- and she practically snubbed me. I'm completely lost in Algebra, and it's too late to drop to the regular Algebra II. English is so dull you wouldn't believe it, and then there's Biology. I crawled around on the floor for three days measuring things.
We played Ultimate Frisbee in PE the other day. The gym teacher didn't tell us the rules, because everyone knew them. Well, guess what- I didn't! Not that it mattered, since no one payed attention to me, anyways... I miss the elementary days of four-square. Good, simple, four-square.
*pokes teeth* But I did get to cut my slice of pizza into a gazillion pieces at lunch today so I could eat. I got my braces tightened yesterday, and they put this thing on them to close the gaps. It aches like crazy, but it was fun eating pizza and fudge rounds with a fork.
Wow. I feel complainy. ^_^" Heh.

-pat's Ru's head-
I get up around 6:30 and the bus comes about 6:52-ish, but it's right across the street from my apartment building.
Wait until you disect the pig in Biology. Or do you disect something else? The Bio rooms are right next to the girls locker room, so you get that nasty chlorine / mourge smell for an entire week when they disect the pigs and stuff.
Post your algebra stuff on here, Ru. Lali and I are here to help.
I miss kickball.

*pats Ru as well*
I offer to help with Algebra as well, now that I'm back. I like math.......sometimes. Calculus was fun. XP
As for me, I like my schedule. Mondays and Wednesdays are fun, with Animation class at 10:10 until 11:40 and Philosophy class (Bleh! >_<) at 3:30 til 5:00. Tuesdays and Thursdays include a stupid mandatory "integration" class at 11:50 til 12:50 or 1:20 depending on the day, and my Strategies in Gaming class from 3:10 til 4:40. So expect posts in the intervals. XD
Fridays I have off, but these will most likely be filled with meetings, so posting times may vary.
But before any of you try to bite my head off for not starting til so late, just remember, I have a one and a half hour commute to complete each morning.
But I love college!! I couldn't wait to get away from high school, so I feel your pain. Just remember, if you choose to go to college, it's all worth it. You study things you actually give a damn about, so it makes you feel good. XD

Whoa. I like living near school. I get up at 7:30 (on the days I'm in in the morning. ;D) and school starts at 8:30. I'm out the door to walk there at 8:20 ish, depending how late I'm running.
But I've put my Ultimate Plan into action and I've dropped Further Maths. I also now get two hours less Maths every week for a while, because I'm using the FM exam I did last year in place of the Statistics one we're studying for this year. Whoot.
I wrote about 500 words of stuff in my free Maths lesson this morning.
And Ru, I'd be delighted to try and help you with algebra. At the moment in maths we're dealing with cosecant, secant and cotangent, so some nice, sane maths would be pleasant.
Miaow.

Right now, my class is working on f(g(x)), which is kind of looking for y, so I would love to go back two years to the simple "Figure out y in 5+xy = 15 when x equals 3" sort of thing. I miss that.
So what else is in your Ultimate Plan, Lali? Going to take over the literate world, one roleplay at a time? ^^
I proof-read a friends story during Math and Auto's today, and wrote more in my BOS, which is funny, as I'm averaging about two pages per day! Woot!
