Ok first of all, how does one join an RP around here? =o I haven't really had time over the past few to look into it too much, but do we generally fill out a form and post it/pm it to the author of the thread and then just start playing, or what?

And also... I'm probably only going to be on here very... sproradically... >.< Just kind of a heads up. ^^

Nope, no forms necessary unless expressly stated otherwise in the opening post.

All RPs (in general) are open to everyone - all you have to do is type up an introductory post for your character, making sure to get their entrance, a brief general description of them, and any vitally important information in there, and then you post that and wait.

What you see in RP threads is usually all there is to it, unless there's been some sneakiness offsite by any two members (*pointedly avoids looking at Shira and Rie* ;D). For example, Ru's Untitled Elemental. I'm pretty sure I haven't PMed her anything about that - we tend to chat around the posts anyway, so if I have any questions I'll ask her there...

And sporadicness is perfectly fine. I used to post about once every two weeks - I'm on here a lot more often at the moment because I've been using the internet for university applications and so on, but I'm still so busy that the RP output has begun to slow down again.

If I grovel enough, I'm sure everyone will forgive me.

^_^ Feel free to ask anything else you need or want to know. Although I'd avoid asking for the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything, if I was you... It tends to cause problems. ;D

If you want to join a roleplay, probably the only formality you need to take is to pop in and ask, if it's been going for a while. If it's just been started and no one has really posted there, go ahead and post an introduction. There's no form to follow, just write whatever you'd like. And you can start a roleplay yourself whenever you want.

And don't worry about that. Get here when you can; just try not to make it so that you post once every two months or something. xD Everyone here is guilty of disappearing now and again.

*coughs* Sorry, Lali, for me and Rie's sneakiness offsite, but what else is there to talk about during computer class, when the both of us had LoL in the background?? Plus, it helped make OTR, TKE, and HFR a little bit better, even though we have 'spoofs' of OTR and HFR in progress.

And don't tell me that you and Ru don't talk about the roleplays on other sites, things like that.

I had all my accounts frozen on Neopets for absolutely no reason whatsoever!! I was very, very annoyed about that. Pestered TNT for a long time until they gave me a reason.

Apparently I'd been "harassing or insulting another user".

So they froze all four of my accounts (you're allowed up to five) even though the oldest - songbreeze35 - was something like 55 months old with a perfect record, 160 thousand NP, and a few awards for contributing to the Neopian Times.

*patpat* I ditched Neopets because all the roleplays sucked. On Gaia, you can at least find someone good now and then. And Lali, just because Shira mentioned talking on other sites, I'm going to PM you.

I did find someone good on neopets. Daxx -- does anyone remember her? She found me on neopets, and had me sign up on KoL, something I've never regretted. ^^

And there are decent roleplayers there. You just have to find a way to PM them before their boards get spammed up (and beleive me, they do, and quickly).

OMFG I still have Neopets too, but I desperately try to stay AWAY from the message boards. WAY too many stupid people there. I've had much better luck with one on one roleplays on Gaia, but as I mentioned in my application, I don't like joining group RPs on there because people tend to be wrapped up in their own little dramas; that and RPs I start tend to not be popular for some reason. =x I'm not -that- uncreative, right? *cries in her spilled milk*

I hate Neopets. They banned me too for no reason. T_T Several times. With good stuff in my account.

OH, what's the rules on swearing and stuff? =x I didn't really see anything on it...

Daxx was from Neopets?! Whoa. I have found a few good people on there, but usually we only spend about half an hour RPing and then wander off and never see each other again...

Awh. *hugs Abunai* Maybe you just haven't found the right Star Wars freaks yet.

As for rules on swearing, we don't have anything set in stone. There are no censored words, and anything that contributes to an RP (character-wise or however else...) is fine, as long as the others in that RP have no problem with it. I think TAVOT (There Are Vampires Out There!) is the only (one of few? No others spring to mind...) RP with swearing in, and I remember mentioning it to Ru before I posted, and she said that it was alright...

Outside RPs much the same rules seem to apply, though it appears that we're all such polite, well-mannered dears that we wouldn't dream of screaming and swearing in public. ;D

Go to "Profile" at the top of the page, then "Modify Profile", which takes you to all your information. Scroll down a bit and there should be an "avatar" option, with a drop-down menu. You can check through the pictures available by clicking them and seeing what they look like, or find a suitable image and paste the link into the box there for "Avatar URL".

If you don't have the URL for the picture you want, you can easily make a photobucket.com account and host it there, or send it to me and I'll add it to mine for you. ^_^

A great place for avatars- if you're into anime, anyway- is www.animerain.com . It's where I get most of mine. The ones that are really meant for proboards are 100x100 avatars, and you can put that in the size boxes, but you can use anything you want as long as it isn't uber big.

And there's some swearing in the pirate one, but nobody likes Kar, so it doesn't matter. I think he's the only character of mine that I really, really hate.
