Hullo, luffs. I have decided to begin a Dragon Roleplay. And since it is that type of rp, then you shall play as a dragon. Other than that, then I have no other rules. Got it? Good.
Great plumes of smoke rose from the heart of the forest as flames ate away at wood. Tender saplings and grown oaks alike burned in the midsts of this man- made forest fire. Innocent creatures perished, or abandoned their homes in order to escape the fires hot clutches.
A careless campfire that had been left alone had spread in a destructing, raging fire that killed and burned. It was those damn men that had camped out here, that hunted deer and rabbit and then left, leaving a massive wake behind them.
And there was nothing Ra'azar could do about it. His claws clutched at the sharp rocks of the small mountain while he scanned over the burning forests and plains. Even from so high up, the fragrant smoke rose to his nostrils and burned his lungs. It bothered him so, that his home, his food supply, was burning to crisps by some horrid humans.
Turning away from the bright, burning horizon before him, he settled onto a flat rock and lay there, sighing gently to himself. There weren't many dragons in this small, but lively forest. And this fire wasn't helping, either. This would greatly diminish the food supply, as if there wasn't enough already.
Ra' azar was thin, from lack of food, and because he was built that way. Under the gleaming gray scales that coated his body, his bones jutted out. The young dragons neck was long and thin, topped by a magnificent pointed head. Ovaled, sharp yellow eyes always held a stroke of intellect in them underneath two sharp Horns that protruded from his forehead. A mane of glossy, greasy black hair ran from between those horns, down his back, and ended just between his slender, transparent wings. Ivory claws were intended for climbing, and clung at rocks tightly. And ending him, was a thin, whip-like tail that held his balance while airborne.
Ra'azar set his head down as he lay, sides heavy as he took a great sigh, almost choking from the heavy smoke. He dearly hoped that this would be over soon. But only time would tell.

Kadyith was young, and even taking that into account, very small. Her wings seemed out of proportion to her slender body, too large when unfurled. After all, she weighed little (for a dragon) and couldn't possibly need such a disproportionate wingspan to keep her afloat. In truth she didn't. And though her wings seemed large, it was only when compared to the rest of her. Compared to another dragon, the area covered by the delicate membrane was still small.
But she could soar for hours.
And that was what she was doing now, gliding effortlessly above the burning forest, being pushed higher and higher by the vast, rising thermals. Her grass-green scales shimmered, catching the light. She had no horns on her head, only long, tufted ears, and her eyes were faceted like a jewel, glimmering green to match her hide. Her tail ended in a fan shape, and swished even as she flew.
She circled round, curious about the cause of the fire, and inadvertently dropped back down too low. The smoke curled up between her claws, and stung at her eyes briefly. With a sudden startled flap of her wings, she sent smoke billowing away from her, and managed to turn and descend towards the mountain nearby.

Ra' azar tilted his head to one side as he noticed another of his kind, obviously curious about the approaching creature. A snort was given and his claws dug further into the hard rock he was laying upon.
Smoke plumed from his nostrils as he gave a small, dull growl. He was quite unsure of the approaching dragon, if it was nice or not. But he could handle it if the outcome wasn't good.

Kadyith's ears twitched as she heard Ra' azar growl. Surprised to find another dragon, she hesitated briefly, wings curling to halt her descent for a moment, and then she swung and dipped down faster, eager to meet the stranger.
After all, she was young, and expected a happy greeting from another who was glad to find a new friend. It didn't occur to her that she could be intruding - or that her approach could be seen as a hostile move.

Ra' azar let out a light bellow, eyes narrowed slightly into slits as he backed up, making room for the other's landing. His wings unfurled slightly as he did so, giving the other dragon a sort of intimidating posture. His neck snaked down, bending into an arch, so his pointed head was held low to the ground. A tendril of smoke slithered from his open nostrils as his dark eyes blinked.
"What is your name? And why are you here?"
His tail whipped behind him and fell to the ground with a large crack, spitting up dust into the already smoky air.

Startled, and a little scared, Kadyith fumbled the landing slightly, spoiling her elegance from the flight. She tucked away her wings swiftly, and crouched, tilting her head to look up at Ra' azar from a very low perspective. In short, she made herself seem as small as possible - which was small indeed.
Blinking against the dust, she said childishly, "My name's Kadyith. What's yours?"
She was more than a little worried by the whiff of smoke he'd breathed out - was he angry with her? But what had she done wrong?

The ridge above his eye delicately raised as he tilted his head, looking down upon the smaller dragon. But then, a curved smile coated his maw as he began to speak softly. "The names Ra' azar. Raaz for short." "And sorry I'm being so... cautious. Not many other dragons around these parts anymore, you know? You from around here?"
He took a careful step forward, curved ivory claws digging into the sand-like soil beneath his feet. His pointed head descended a bit, coming closer to the other dragons, giving a slight shake as to brush away dirt and grime from his mane.

Kadyith blinked at him, relaxing a little now that he didn't seem to be quite so angry. She shook her head, and looked curious.
"Why aren't there many dragons round here? There's lots where I come from."
Of course, by lots she really meant eight that she knew of, but that was quite beside the point. Eight was lots if you were only used to one or two.
"Do you live here?" she asked before he could reply, the excitement of exploring a new place seizing her again. "Why's the forest on fire? Do you know every cave in the mountain? How long have you lived here? Do you have any friends nearby? Will you show me where everything is?"
With each question she raised her head up a little, until she was back at her normal height and almost bouncing on her feet with her eagerness to know everything all at once.

The dragon gave an irritated snort, a plume of smoke curling from his opened maw.
"Easy there. One question at a time. Yes, I live here. The forest is on fire because of thoses dreaded humans. They made fire, and it spread..."
Raaz gave an angry snarl at this, tail lashing dangerously in the air behind him, like a thin whip.
"I've lived here my whole life, since I was a dracling. My friends... the few I had flew off at the sign of the fire. And I can't show you where everything is, because everything is burning."
He heaved a sad sigh, neck craning downward gloomily. He retreated to a laying position, much like a cat would.

Kadyith's tufted ears flattened in sympathetic sadness. She turned her head to glance out over the forest, and asked, "Isn't there anything we can do to stop it?"
She'd never seen such a fire raging out of control - the only blazes in her homeland had been controlled very firmly by the dragons who'd started them, clearing away the old trees to allow new growth every now and again. The humans who'd begun to appear there hadn't dared to anger the dragons by setting such a fire. As far as Kadyith was aware, the two species had stubbornly ignored each other.
Apparently, that was not the case everywhere.
She glanced back at Ra' azar, upset that her new friend was upset, and wondered what she could do to cheer him up.

Raz looked up at the smaller, female dragon and let out a short huff that seemed to indicate his sadness and slight confusion.
"I'm not sure myself. I've been trying to think of ways to stop it, but there aren't enough dragons to transport water from rivers and lakes to the fire. Only one can carry so much water at a time, and I fear that the fire is spreading very quickly."
Letting out an angry snarl, he whipped his toothy maw to the side, yellow eyes fixed sharply on Kadyith.
"And it's those damn humans fault. It was because of their laziness that the forest is being destroyed..."

Kadyith shivered with annoyance, and paced around in a tight circle impatiently.
"There must be something! It isn't fair for the whole forest to burn down."
Desperately, she tried to think how fires had been controlled in her home. Before they started the blaze, the older dragons had torn up trees around the area they wished to burn, creating a break in the fire's fuel. And they'd been careful to keep an eye on it, with plenty of water ready.
Was it too late for that here? She suggested it anyway, wanting to help somehow.

Raz cast his weary eyes on the smaller dragon, a small plume of smoke slinking from his nostrils as he pondered over what she had said.
"That is a good idea. A wise idea. But I'm afraid that the fire has already eaten up much of the forest. We might not be able to clear the area fast enough, though."
His eyebrow crests rose sadly as he turned his head, gazing over his spot on the cliff, to the raging fires below. the sound of the fire snapping and cracking trees was deafening, and the black smoke was becoming unbearable.
"My poor forest. It's burning..."

"You can't just give up!" Kadyith cried, wings spreading wide as, flustered, she tried to think of some other way of saving the wood.
"If we can't break the fire, then think of somethingelse," she urged him, unused to being the leading mind in a group. She was getting agitated again, shifting from foot to foot, tail swishing, ears flattened as she stared at Raaz.
Abruptly, she inhaled a gust of smoke and coughed for a few moments, then shook her head and flapped her wings to blow the smoke away from herself. If they were going to do anything, she realised, they would have to do it soon, or abandon the area for their own safety.

Raaz gagged himself, eyes squinting as the black fumes were blown into his eyes, blinking back the ash and dust. He rose from his laying positing, head hung low in an attempt to direct some smoke away from his face.
"I don't have a clue of what to do. Every second we stand here, another acre of woods is burning. This fire has become much above our limits, I fear."
After somewhat yelling this, he craned his neck to the side, peering down the side of the mountain. Already the enormous flames were licking at the few trees that were placed across the mountain, coming dangerously close to where they were perched.

The heat was beginning to reach them as well, and Kadyith, from colder climes, was starting to get scared now.
"Isn't there anyone else who can help us?" she asked in a whimper, then realised that Raaz probably couldn't hear her over the hungry crackle of approaching flames. As she opened her mouth to repeat the question, louder, she inhaled smoke again, and this time she couldn't seem to stop coughing.
Panicking, she flapped her wings and jumped up, hauling herself into the air to try and get above the smoke. Momentarily, she forgot about Ra' azar, until her throat cleared, and by that time the hot drafts of air had carried her well up into the sky. The underside of her wings stung from the exposure to the hot smoke, and she moved out of the updrafts to try and drop gradually back down, folding her wings briefly, then opening them before she picked up too much speed in a fall.

Raaz watched helplessly as the flames all but engulfed him, shying away from the approaching flames. Blinking rapidly, the smoke clouded his eyes, infected his lungs. He couldn't breathe, nor see, and desperately began to beat his wings. Smoke swirled around him, coating his already gray scales with dark, black soot. But he began to eventually rise, panting and coughing, and soon gave way to clearer air. He took steady breaths, pumping his wings, as he finally reached the less smoky drafts. He took in long, deep breaths, his body shaking. The bottom of his feet and belly were badly burnt, and as the wind stung at his skin, he let out a sharp, mournful cry.
Swooping downwards, he instantly spotted Kadyith, and went to hover next to her. His voice was raspy and pained as he spoke. "Are you...alright?"

Ashamed of her panicked flight, Kadyith fixed her gaze on the burning forest as she croaked, "Yes."
Her overlarge wings were spread wide, allowing her to float effortlessly on the rising air, but she could feel the strain of terror in every muscle. She was exhausted already, and she'd only been airborne for a minute or two.
Her scales varied in colour now - her underside coated with soot from the smoke, but her real colour drained by now-fading panic. Slowly, she looked over at Ra' azar, hovering over the smouldering ruins of his home.
"Are you?"

Raaz didn't respond immediantly, but coughed again, eyes watering from the smoke. He panted, feet tucked up under him, away from the rush of the stinging air.
"I will be soon. I've just burnt my stomach and my feet, but I should be okay."
Raaz wasn't so sure himself, though. His feet were throbbing painfully, but to add to that, he was having a lot more trouble breathing than he should have. His lungs rattled audibly with each large breath and he couldn't help but coughing. Once he had maintained enough altitude above the flaring flames, he spread his rather thin wings and, with Kadyith, tried to find safer ground.

Kadyith was concerned for the both of them, and in her anxiety and agitation, she realised that she was tiring herself out further by desperately searching for a safe spot to land. If she could only relax, she would be fine.
She darted a glance at Raaz. Even if she did relax, her new friend wouldn't be fine. His wings weren't as good for floating as hers. And though he said he was alright, she began to wonder how far he was stretching the truth when he said it.
But surely he knew best, right?
Natural optimism beginning to creep back up, she started looking for somewhere safe, a little calmer now. They'd be fine.
"There!" she said suddenly, and wheeled in a sharp circle to her right, causing a sudden spark of pain in her wings. She'd have to be a little more careful than that.
The area she was aiming at was slightly around the back of the base of the mountain, not too far from the forest, where a river bend curled round away from the wood, providing an almost-complete circle of water between the flames and the opposite bank.
