I call this list the "No Excuse" fifty because there is no use in offering excuses when we misspell any of these words. They are too simple!! We might be able to explain why we can't spell words like "hippopotamus" or "equestrienne" by pointing out that we have never had a job with a circus. But when we misspell any words on this list, all we can do is blush and look the other way because they are among the most common words in our language.
1. accept (to accept money) 2. across 3. all right 4. always 5. among 6. beginning 7. believe 8. business 9. coming 10. criticize 11. description 12. disappear 13. disappoint 14. doesn't 15. finally 16. forty 17. hoping 18. immediately 19. its (in its nest), it's 20. library 21. literature 22. losing 23. minute 24. necessary 25. occurred 26. omit 27. peculiar 28. perhaps 29. pleasant 30. principal (of a school), principle 31. probably 32. quiet (a quiet motor) 33. realize 34. really 35. receive 36. separate 37. similar 38. surprise 39. than (more than Mary) 40. their (in their house), they're 41. therefore 42. truly 43. too (too hot or too cold), two, to 44. until 45. usually 46. weather (rainy weather), whether 47.
